SUMMARY:2nd Brussels Korea Breakfast Roundtable: on spring of diplomacy in the Korean Peninsula
DESCRIPTION:Professor Kim Sung-han\, Dean of the Graduate School of International Studies at Korea University and former Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea\, kicked off the meeting with an analysis of the recent flurry of diplomatic activities in the Korean Peninsula. Issues discussed with attendees included the main takeaways of the inter-Korean summit\, the significance of the summit between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un\, and the prospects of denuclearization and peace with North Korea.\n\nThe breakfast meeting is the second one in a series of roundtable discussions on Korean Peninsula affairs. It is organised quarterly and consists of a short summary by an expert on the current state of affairs of US-North Korea relations and inter-Korean relations. This is followed by a Q&A with about 20 attendees drawn from EU institutions\, NATO\, member state representations to the EU\, and foreign embassies.
